Prior to movies, he was a Telugu lecturer in the town of Attili, a town in West Godavari district in the state of Andhra Pradesh. He began his film career with popular Telugu director and writer, Jandhyala’s Aha Naa Pellanta in which Rajendra Prasad played the lead role. Owing to his comic abilities, he is now one of the most respected comedians in the history of Tollywood. Nowadays he is an well versatile active comedian in Tamil movies as well, such as in Ghillli, Mozhi, and Sathyam.
He has two sons and the elder son Gautam has been introduced to the Telugu film industry through Pallakilo Pellikooturu. The film is directed by renowned choreographer and writer, Chandrabose’s wife Suchitra.
